Introducing..... S.A.S!
Sisters Always Simplifying
My sisters and I have been talking alot lately about ways to simplify our lives. We've been sharing ideas back and forth about ways to simplify, ways to be self reliant like getting our food storage in order, 3 month supply, yearly supply etc. And learning all we can about it! We decided to create a site that would alow us to share all our ideas and gather our resources that we find from other blogs about food storage and other tips and tricks for us to use in our home. Things like food storage recipes, ideas for kids and mom activities, couponing, and finances. Finally, we've put it all together and here it is! Come visit us and maybe there is something that might be of benefit to you!

C-Sections
Looks like I am having a c-section..... again!
I have tryed to decide which way to go these past few months. Many of you know that I had a C with Gracie because she was just too big, and after 17 hours of labor, 4 hours of pushing, they had no other option! After all, she was a 9lb 5ouce baby. The problem was I didnt get anything except an epedural, and it had worn off alot by the time they took me in. I felt way too much pain during the surgery! I know I dont have the highest pain tolerance, but it was more than I should have felt, and my recovery was horrible.
It gives me nightmirrors just thinking about what happened. I want to try a VBAC (vaginal birth after C-section) especially because this is the last chance I have, after this, its all C's. The only thing holding me back is that we could end up in the same situation. I could just be prone to having big babies, and have another 9 pounder, and not be able to get the baby out! So.. after pondering, and talking to lots of women who have had C's (several are on their 5th child!) I have concluded to go with statistics, and plan a c-section. It is scheduled for 3 1/2 week from now! I have to admit, it is strange although kind of exciting to think I would get up shower, and go in and have the baby all planned out!
I am wondering if some of you have faced this situation and what your thoughts are about it. Was the first C different than the second or third as far as pain and recovery go? I like to hear all different perspectives, its interesting to me. At the end of the day, I am just grateful that we do have as many options as we have in our day, its a blessing.
..... doesnt 3 1/2 weeks away sound great!!!

Toddler bed
Well, its obvious that I have been a big blogger slacker! Life has been busy as we prepare for this new little baby boy! We've been getting his room ready, and moved Gracie into a toddler bed. James and I were so excited to see how she would react to this change. The first week was so fun. She just loved it, at night she goes to bed so good, and she calls my name out in the morning to come get her. Over delighting in our success one day, I put our little "angel" down for a nap. About a half an hour later I heard strange noises in her room. I went up stairs and she had done it! Yes, she had taken off her dirty diaper, and decided she was a big girl and could clean herself. I looked around the room, and couldnt see where the diaper was. With my nose as my guide,I found a crinkled up dirty diaper stuffed in her pajama drawer. The used, dirty wipes were all stuffed back into the wipe dispenser (clever huh?)
She completed her little mascarade by taking off all her clothes and shoving them along with all her other clothes under her bed!
The next day, I thought, surely yesterday was the worst of it. So, I put her down for her nap, and low and behold a half hour later I heard lots of banging. So I went upstairs and the little "angel" had taken all of her clothes out of her drawers, pulled all her dresses off the hangers, took all the books out of the book shelves, and even took apart the humidifier, all on the floor in the room. Thanks to my sister, I realized this is just one of those times I need to get out the camera and not let myself get upset. So, I went upstairs, took some pictures, and put her back down. Thankfully, after that, she finally fell asleep.
So, the adventures continued for several days. Today is the first day she napped without getting out of her bed to see what kind of mischief her curiousity would get her into.
Hopefully, she will get it all out of her system before baby brother comes!
